State of Downtown Economic Profile

Each year, the Downtown Seattle Association hosts its signature event – the State of Downtown Economic Forum. This event – and its accompanying report – provides an insightful look into the economic health of Downtown Seattle. The forum and report review progress of the past year – and a look ahead – including an analysis of Downtown housing, office market, retail, business sectors, convention & tourism as well as cultural arts, sports and entertainment.

Our 2012 State of Downtown Economic Report is compiled using the most current available information from a variety of recognized sources – including key trends in retail, tourism, commercial and residential real estate, as well as hotel occupancy rates, construction project analysis and other tools to help monitor progress and seize new opportunities.

This extensive research is derived from commissioned studies and expert analysis by the Metropolitan Improvement District’s (MID) Business Development and Market Research Team. Their combined resources provide valuable tools for current and prospective Downtown businesses.
