    • DSA played a key role in ensuring state wide funding to the replace the Viaduct with a tunnel

    • DSA successfully lobbied the Mayor for Downtown zoning changes to attract more jobs and housing

Keeps Downtown clean, safe and vibrant

  • DSA manages the Metropolitan Improvement District to provide $4 million of additional clean and safe services for Downtown
  • Last year, the MID picked up 11 tons of garbage; and removed nearly 10,000 graffiti tags from public and private property
  • Downtown ambassadors assisted 4,364 homeless people; and provided 559 security escorts
  • Partnered with Seattle Police Department to increase patrols in critical Downtown corridors
  • Produces the annual Holiday Wonderland and carousel at Westlake Park which attracts nearly 80,000 riders each year
  • Every summer hosts nearly 60 Out to Lunch concerts throughout Downtown
  • Produced Nutcracker March, a public art project with fifty decorated sculptures placed throughout Downtown
  • Implements multi-media advertising campaign to promote Downtown attracting visitors throughout the year
