Since 1958, DSA has been a leader in urban revitalization, transforming Downtown Seattle into a thriving world class place to live, work and visit. DSA with its committees advocates for Downtown to ensure it is accessible, clean, safe and economically healthy.

DSA's top priorities for July 2007 - June 2008 are:

  • Advocate for public policies that foster a dense, vibrant, urban center
  • Implement strategies to improve Downtown's competitive edge in the region
  • Advocate for replacing the Viaduct with an alternative that supports a healthy Downtown and an accessible waterfront, and advocate for construction mitigation strategies that protect the Downtown economy
  • Advocate for more public safety resources to ensure a clean, safe and attractive streetscape in the downtown core
