Goal: Improve access to, from and through Downtown.
Objectives
- Advocate for replacing the Viaduct with an alternative that supports a healthy Downtown and an accessible waterfront, and advocate for construction mitigation strategies that protect the Downtown economy
- Advocate for improvements to the regional transportation network
- Enhance transit flow through Downtown while supporting vehicle access, pedestrian and retail use
- Support the Downtown Transportation Alliance goal of reducing single occupancy vehicle commute trips to Downtown by 6 percentage points by 2015
- Advocate for funding for replacing the 520 bridge
- Advocate for Downtown “Bridging the Gap” and “Transit Now” projects
- Support the South Lake Union and Waterfront Street Car lines and street car line expansion
