The 12-acre park project includes replacing the seawall bulkhead and building a boardwalk that follows the seawall, along with a pedestrian bridge and utility improvements. The project also includes landscaping, construction of an interactive water fountain, expansion of the Center for Wooden Boats, and a pond for racing model boats. In addition, there will be a trail focusing on the lake's industrial history.

The Trust for Public Land and the Seattle Art Museum built an $85 million project to transform nine acres of waterfront property adjoining Myrtle Edwards Park and bounded by Western Ave, Broad St and Elliott Ave into a sculpture park. The park has a two-story, 10,814 square-foot pavilion, parking for 54 vehicles below grade, pedestrian walkways and a pedestrian overpass.
